Elan - Elan Vs Elan

APF Records is proud to announce the release of Elan’s debut album, “Elan Vs Elan”, set to drop on April 25th, 2025. The first single, “My English Tongue”, will be unleashed on March 7th, delivering a preview of the band’s twisted, sludge-infused noise rock. 

Each track on “Elan Vs Elan” draws inspiration from cult films and TV shows, blending heavy, abrasive riffing with surreal storytelling. Shane Miller explains: 

“I’ve always wanted to create a project where I had complete creative control, where I could channel my love for TV and film, blending it with heavy music and unsettling artistic elements. Joe and I have been working together since we were 14, most notably in William English, and I knew he’d instinctively get my weird ideas without much explanation.” 

1.    Two Angry Men – A jam-like intro track, layered with a sound clip from the classic “12 Angry Men”.

2.    Behind This Place – A Neurosis-inspired chugger, with lyrics lifted from “Mulholland Drive”. The track avoids any repeated sections, setting a theme for the first half of the album.

3.    Don’t Talk Turkey – A short, stabby, absurdist piece, using script lines from David Lynch’s “What Did Jack Do?”.

4.    Peaks – Heavy, catchy riffs and guttural vocals, thematically tied to Twin Peaks.

5.    To Kill A Gull – The album’s heaviest track, delivering chaotic riffs and vocals that sound like two vocalists battling each other. Inspired by The Lighthouse.

6.    My English Tongue – A hard-hitting, pulverizing track inspired by The Witch, featuring both Shane and Joe on vocals. A music video for this track is set for release.

7.    Less Stable Readers – A chaotic mix of black metal vibes, hardcore breakdowns, and crushing weight, pulling influence from In the Mouth of Madness.

8.    Advocate Cannibalism – A long, hypnotic, unsettling closer, using sound clips and lyrics from Pink Flamingos, one of the most disturbing cult films ever made.
