War After War - No Change

When No Change came out in June 2020, War After War hit like a visceral shockwave. Formed by members of BongCauldron (Jason Hope on drums, Ben Corkhill on bass/vocals) and Lewis Atkinson of Nomad on guitar, the trio swapped slow-doom weight for raw, fast-paced aggression. It’s short, sharp, and unapologetically hardy – 6 tracks in about thirteen minutes, but enough to make their presence felt.

From Burned through Ignorance, the EP charges. The guitars bite, the drumming rattles, the vocals bark truth, and the riffs rip. Even in its brief moments of pause (or slower pace), there’s no let-up in intensity; the band never pauses for polish. Every breakdown, every chant, every blast feels earned.

Lyrically and emotionally, it hits raw. Themes of betrayal, self-confrontation, societal decay, and resistance run through tracks like You Against You, Same Mistakes and Presence of Mind. There’s a sense of urgency—not just physically in the speed, but in the message. It’s more than anger; it’s something like a call to stay awake.

No Change wasn’t just War After War’s debut—it was proof that they could do damage quickly. It reminded that hardcore still has room for rage, attitude, and personality. For fans who like their heaviness with no sugar-coating, this EP was a statement—and it still stands out in APF’s catalogue as a raw, charged burst of energy.
